Celebrating life's moments with uplifting and inspiring ceremonies

Celebrant in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and London

Bespoke and unforgettable ceremonies for weddings, funerals, anniversaries, blessingways and many more.

Life is a guaranteed experience of ups and downs.

All of these moments deserve to be celebrated as part of your, or your loved one’s, life story.

I create bespoke ceremonies based on your wishes, infused with my love for the fun, the sacred, the tradition and the emotion of life.

Together, we design your dream ceremony.

I can help you celebrate the moments that bring joy, hope and excitement; marriages and partnership commitments, births and birthdays, anniversaries, achievement recognition and new chapters.

I can help you honour the moments that deserve tears, grief and healing; deaths, divorce, change in circumstance and loss of any kind.

How does this work?

You contact me and we arrange a convenient time to speak on the phone or via Skype.

We discuss your event and you get a feel for whether I am the celebrant for you. If you wish to entrust me with your ceremony, you confirm and we begin to create together.

I have some questions I ask to gather the information I need to begin writing your story. You have final approval of the ceremony and can make as many edits and changes as you wish.

I can visit you in your home to run through the ceremony. When you are happy, we confirm the final script.

If required, I attend the rehearsal or run-through at venue.

I arrive at the venue on the day to ensure everyone and everything is as it should be and conduct an elegant, sincere and loving ceremony.

House of Peacock conducts independent celebrant ceremonies in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and London.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are no limits to the content of your ceremony. You can include who and what you want: music, readings, friends and family members and any symbolic, spiritual or religious elements you wish.

A celebrant conducted ceremony can be held at any time of the day or night and in any place, as long as you have the permission of the landowner. A field, a private home, on a boat, on a beach, up a tree if you like.

The ceremony can be as long or as short as you wish.

I write and design all ceremonies myself, conducting thorough research of any element you wish to include should you not know this yourself and would appreciate some options.

For a marriage to be legally recognised, a registration of marriage must take place beforehand and after you have obtained your marriage certificate from the local registry office.

You can arrange for the registration only option, which is a very short and basic service, and provides you with your certificate only. This currently costs less than £50. This service does not have to include the exchange of rings or vows if you don’t want it to. Once this has happened, you can then choose where, how and when you wish to exchange your vows and rings and celebrate with a House of Peacock bespoke ceremony.

All ceremonies are bespoke to completely honour your wishes.

I strive to work with most budgets and in special circumstances, can offer a discount or a ceremony free of charge.

Absolutely! I would be more than happy to meet with you at your venue or at a mutually convenient place for a zero obligation 30 minute chat.

As soon as your venue is booked and secured, you should book your celebrant.

To secure your booking, 50% of the total fee is paid as a deposit along with the return of the booking form. Once this is received, we can begin working together to design your ceremony.

Absolutely, and I totally encourage this.  You let me know what they will be doing or reading, or we can work on that together, and I just write that into the final ceremony.

I can also speak with them beforehand to run through their contribution if you wish.

I can help you write them if you wish or give you some pointers. It can be daunting at first, but I have some tricks up my sleeve and a library of examples you can use.

Yes! With the wonders of Skype and email it doesn’t matter where you are based.

UK law means that it is difficult for foreign nationals to qualify to be married in this country.

Please see https://www.gov.uk/marriages-civil-partnerships for more information.

More and more couples are therefore choosing to perform the brief and short legal service in their own country and then travel to the UK for a wedding blessing and celebration with friends and family.

If you are planning a destination wedding, I would be delighted to accompany you and kindly confirm that you pay for all travel and accommodation in addition to ceremony fee.

I am experienced at conducting ceremonies with only a few days notice.
